AMETHYST | PICK ONE SUIT YOU THE BEST

If you were born in February or you want to select a gift for a friend born in February, an amethyst would definitely be a great choice. Here is some tips for you to pick an amethyst.

The first thing to look when picking an amethyst is the color. Amethysts come in colors ranging from different shades of purple, sometimes even pink. In the market, the most valuable hue is a strong reddish purple shade, but everyone has different taste, so you just need to know which is your favourite colour.

The second thing to consider is clarity. Most amethysts have excellent clarity. It is hard to see inclusions with your naked eyes.

The size and cutting can also effect the price of amethysts. Amethyst is suitable for shaping into all kinds of cutting, so custom, advanced and creative cutting will add extra value to amethysts. It is easy to find large size amethyst than other gems, so its price increase gradually.

AMETHYST | CARE AND CLEAN

Amethyst is a 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness, which means it is a gemstone appropriate for daily use. However, this gem could be scratched or damaged by harder gems such as diamonds, sapphires and rubies, if you keep them together. So it is always safe when you keep your jewellery alone.

When it comes to cleaning the amethyst, warm soap water and a soft brush is always the safest option. If you worried that you can’t clean your amethyst jewellery thoroughly, it can be cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner, but steam cleaning is not recommended.
